Unsung Heroes Are Faithful in Little Things

Tomorrow we fly to India.   Just Nancy and I get on the plane, but we aren’t going alone.  Each of you who read this, pray or give to this ministry is going with us.  It takes a whole TEAM to make this happen and we couldn’t do it alone!  Never.  Each one who helps is part of this trip and ministry.  Each one who has part by supporting Christian Training Organization in any way contributes.  And each one will also be rewarded and blessed by God.  Nancy and I go, but we all share the workload as well as the reward God promises to all who serve Him.

Maybe you don’t realize how important your role is.  You are “unsung heroes”, working behind the scenes to faithfully serve God.  The church is full of these kinds of people.  It’s not just a pastor who makes a church go.  The church has to be cleaned, children taught, diapers changed, checks written, bulletins folded and many other things done that most never know about.  But God does, and He greatly appreciates those in servant roles.  We certainly know and appreciate all each one of you do.  We couldn’t do it without you.

The quarterback may get the accolades, but without the linemen protecting him he couldn’t do anything.  The public sees the news reporter on TV, but without the cameramen, editors and news writers, the news wouldn’t be seen.  Even Batman needed Robin.

One of my favorite Bible people is Joseph, a man who certainly worked behind the scenes.  He doesn’t get much space in the Christmas story.  He doesn’t even say a recorded word.  But without his support of May and Jesus what would have happened?  We know of Stephen and Phillip, what about the other five deacons of the early church who worked just as hard and faithfully?  We don’t know a thing about them.  But God does, and He blesses and rewards all of them.

When we go tomorrow your prayers will carry us and open the doors of ministry, your financial gifts will pay the bills so the work can be done and your love and encouragement will lift up our hearts and enable us to move ahead.  So thanks for everything!  Thanks for your faithfulness to God and the pastors in India.  You bring joy to our hearts.  We love you and thank you.  You bring joy to God’s heart as well and He loves and thanks you now and will keep doing so for all eternity!  (January 20, 2019  Doylestown, PA)

Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Hebrews 6:10  God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

1 Samuel 16:23 The LORD rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness.

Luke 6:23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.

Is there something you should be doing for Jesus but you’re not doing it?  Some behind-the-scenes work He wants you to do?  Is there someone you should encourage or pray for?  Some act of service for your church or another person?  If God puts anything in your mind, commit to do it, starting today.  And don’t forget to pray regularly for us.
